My role:
Communications lead · Editorial leadership · Writing and editing · Plain language · Stakeholder communications · Content development · Project coordination · Web design and management · Subject matter expert (SME) interviewing

As a Communications Lead for the Population Health Management Initiative, I coordinated communications for a cohort of 32 California community health centers participating in a large-scale health care transformation initiative.

I worked across teams of subject matter experts, coaches, partners, designers, and communications professionals to translate complex program information into clear, useful communications for participating health centers and other stakeholders.

My work included leading editorial and design processes for impact reports, success stories, newsletters, web design and content, event materials, project descriptions, slide decks, and onboarding resources. I also served as a primary copy editor for the project and advocated for plain language and accessible, equitable communications.

My role:
Audience research · Content strategy · Information architecture · Web writing and editing · SEO · UX/UI · Drupal implementation

When UNH Health & Wellness needed to overhaul its website as part of a major Drupal update, I took the opportunity to rethink not just how the site looked, but how well it was serving its intended audiences.

Over the course of an 18-month redesign, I used focus groups, surveys, analytics, SEO research, and web best practices to identify opportunities to improve the site's structure, usability, and content. I worked closely with UNH's Web & Mobile Development team while learning Drupal to implement the content and structural changes myself.

The redesigned site gained visibility and better usability, and ultimately became a central source for campus-wide health guidance and education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the onset of COVID-19, I co-led the development of #UNHTogether, a comprehensive health communications campaign designed to encourage prevention behaviors while emphasizing community engagement and shared responsibility.

I collaborated with university departments, student and staff representatives, and community stakeholders to develop an evidence-based communications approach for a diverse college population. The campaign coordinated messaging across print and digital channels, including webpages, social media, signage, videos, challenges, and toolkits that could be used by partners across campus.

The campaign reached a university community of more than 15,000 students and 4,000 employees, along with three affiliate campuses across New Hampshire.

When UNH Health & Wellness set out to update its evidence-based Well-Being Wheel, I worked with staff to make the resource more inclusive, relevant, and useful for current students.

I facilitated conversations with my colleagues, a team of subject matter experts, to capture the ideas, behaviors, and resources associated with each dimension of well-being, then translated that input into a comprehensive key messages document and revised the language of the tool itself.

I collaborated with colleagues and a graphic designer on the visual update, and developed the communications plan for rolling out the refreshed resource across web, social media, print materials, and campus spaces.
